Avstarna separates your team into two tiers: admins, who manage the full platform, and workers, who are sub-users that log in with a PIN code on a shared device. This makes it easy to give your production floor, warehouse, or packaging team fast, secure access to only the tasks they need — without handing out individual email-based accounts. Go to Settings → Workers in your Avstarna admin panel. You’ll see a list of all existing workers along with their assigned roles and current status.

Add a New Worker

1

Click Add Worker

On the Workers page, click the Add Worker button to open the new worker form.
2

Enter the worker's details

Provide the worker’s name. This is the name that appears in task assignments, worker lists, and activity logs.
3

Assign a role

Select a role from the Role dropdown. Roles determine what tasks and areas of the platform the worker can access.
Roles are configured in the Catalog section of your admin panel under Customers. If you don’t see the role you need, set it up there first before adding the worker.
You can attach one or more role tags to each worker to further refine their access and group them in reports or task views.
4

Save the worker

Click Save. Avstarna automatically generates a PIN code for the new worker. Share this PIN with the worker so they can log in on a shared device.

How PIN-Based Login Works

Workers do not need an email address or password. Instead, they log in using their assigned PIN code on a shared device — typically a tablet or touchscreen terminal on the production floor.
  • Workers select their name from the worker list on the shared device
  • They enter their PIN to authenticate
  • They are taken directly to a task-based interface showing only the work assigned to them
The worker interface is intentionally simplified. Workers see only their assigned tasks — production jobs, inventory work, or packaging steps — rather than the full admin dashboard.

Manage Existing Workers

From the Workers list you can view and manage each worker’s profile. Click a worker’s name to open their record, where you can:
  • Edit a worker’s name, role, or tags at any time
  • Reset their PIN if they’ve forgotten it or if a device has been compromised
  • Delete a worker record to remove their access when they leave your team

Edit worker detailsClick the worker’s name → Edit
Reset PINClick the worker’s name → Reset PIN
Delete workerClick the worker’s name → Delete
When a team member leaves, remove their worker profile promptly to prevent PIN access on shared devices.
Deleting a worker is permanent. If you want to retain the worker’s activity history while preventing future access, consider updating their PIN instead and storing it securely until you decide to remove the record.
