Product Hierarchy
Avstarna organizes your product range into three levels, giving you precise control over how products are structured and sold.Product Parent
The top-level grouping — think of this as the product family or brand line (e.g., “Organic Fruit Bars”). A Parent holds shared information and acts as a container for all its variants.
Product Variant
A specific version of the parent product, typically differentiated by flavor, size, or recipe (e.g., “Strawberry Fruit Bar — 100g”). Most product settings, pricing, and specifications live at this level.
Inventory records, labels, and production outputs are all tied to Product Sub-Variants. Make sure your sub-variants are fully set up before you begin production runs or stock management.
Storage Types
Each product is assigned a storage type that reflects its physical handling requirements. Avstarna uses this to organize stock and flag any mismatches during receiving or dispatch.| Storage Type | Conditions |
|---|---|
| Frozen | −18 °C |
| Fresh | Refrigerated |
| Dry | Ambient / room temperature |
