Avstarna is available in English and Dutch. Your language preference is set per user, so each team member can work in their preferred language independently. When you change your language, it updates the dashboard interface, all PDF documents you generate, and the email notifications you receive.
Change Your Language
You can update your language preference in two places:
- Settings → Language in the admin panel
- The language selector in the main navigation header (available on every page)
Both options apply the change immediately — no page reload or logout required.
Open Language Settings
Navigate to Settings → Language, or click the language selector in the top navigation bar.
Select your preferred language
Choose from the available options:| Language | Code |
|---|
| English | en |
| Dutch (Nederlands) | nl |
Confirm the change
Click Save (when using the Settings page) or select directly from the nav dropdown. The interface switches to your chosen language straight away.
What the Language Setting Affects
Your language preference cascades through every part of Avstarna that generates text:
| Area | Effect |
|---|
| Dashboard & UI | All labels, menus, buttons, and status messages display in your chosen language |
| PDF documents | Invoices, packing slips, picking lists, and product spec documents are generated in your language |
| Email notifications | System emails — such as task assignments and order confirmations — are sent in your language |
Language is a per-user setting, not a company-wide setting. If your team members need different languages, each person can set their own preference independently. This is especially useful for international teams working from the same Avstarna account.
Language and PDF Documents
When you generate a PDF — such as an invoice or a packing slip — Avstarna uses the language preference of the admin user who generates the document at that moment. If you need a specific document in Dutch, ensure your language is set to Dutch before generating it.
If you regularly produce documents for both Dutch and international customers, consider creating dedicated user accounts for each language workflow. This keeps your document languages consistent without manually switching back and forth.
Switching Back
You can switch languages as often as you need. There are no restrictions on how frequently you change your preference. Simply return to Settings → Language or use the nav header selector at any time.
